Though the history of the C-54 was long and varied, it was the Skymaster's service during the Berlin Airlift that was the most pivotal. At 10 tons a flight, the Skymaster and accompanying aircraft were able to deliver nearly two-and-a-half million tons of supplies in just under a year. The reliability, lift capacity, and speed of the four-engine Skymaster, coupled with the determination of air crews, ground crews, and civilians, enabled the US and Britain to pull off the single greatest feat in aviation history.

The Fiat G.55 Centauro was a single-engine single-seat World War II low-wing fighter first produced in 1943 and considered the best Italian fighter of that period. It was very popular among pilots thanks to its solid construction and speed. Centauro was easy to operate and the landing gear retracted completely in-flight. This new COBI model is equipped with easy-to-open pilot's cabin, retractable landing gear and rotating flaps. There's also a block stand with a printed name of the plane.
With its 2,000hp engine and distinctive inverted gull wings, the F4U Corsair was an excellent fighter which served on the frontlines from WWII to the Korean War. This kit depicts the F4U-1A variant which first entered service in the summer of 1943 and was the mount of many famous U.S. Navy and Marine Corps aces. Characteristic features such as the taller seat, longer tailwheel, and improved canopy have all been accurately reproduced, and the wings may even be assembled in folded position. Parts for 1,000lb bombs, drop tanks, and two pilot figures, as well as two marking options are included.
The Allison engine powered P-51A Apache, was derived from the original RAF Mustang 1 ground attack and photo reconnaissance aircraft. Long before anyone had even heard of a Mustang, the plan to put a Rolls Royce Merlin engine into the airframe had started. The Merlin was powering some of the best warplanes in England; the Hurricane, Spitfire and the Avro Lancaster bomber. To develop a new engine for the P-51 would take considerable time, which the allies did not have. n September 1940, the Packard Motor Company of the U.S. began license production of the Merlin V-1650-1 engine in Detroit, Mich...
