Bandit Records will proudly release GEORGE JONES AMAZING GRACE on September 10th, two days before what would have been Jones 82nd birthday. Jones, a partner in Bandit Records, recorded the gospel songs with producer Billy Sherrill in 2002 with the exception of one track, 'Great Judgment Morning,' which was produced by Brian Ahern in 1994.The Billy Sherrill songs represent the final sessions between Jones and Sherrill.

The great difficulty in playing lap steel is that the left hand has to maintain the purity of pitch and tone with a lovely wavering vibrato. There are no other lead instruments to "hide" behind on this CD. Chuck is the ONLY lead instrument playing the entire melody. It is all there to hear, every note, every harmonic masterfully played. Yes, the CD is somewhat thematic tonally, which was intended, but Chuck still manages to throw quite a few "curves" at the listener.
