• BOSS AW-3 Dynamic Wah Pedal with PigHog PP9V Pig Power 9V DC 1000ma Power Supply

BOSS AW-3 with PigHog 9V Power Adapter AW-3 Dynamic Wah Pedal from BOSS. By itself as a stompbox, the AW-3 functions like an auto-wah. Set the rate and let the funk begin. For easy tempo changes, the tap-tempo mode allows you to use the footswitch to tap out the desired tempo, and the AW-3 will follow. The AW-3 also functions dynamically, like an envelope filter, using the level of your guitar's signal to modulate the ""position"" of the wah. Funk and fusion players like guitarists Guthrie Govan and bassist Bootsy Collins have used this type of sound to great rhythmic effect. Pig Power is a... [Read More]

  • This is an Enhanced CD, which contains both regular audio tracks and multimedia computer files.Personnel includes: Ozzy Osbourne (vocals); Zakk Wylde (guitar); Robert Trujillo (bass); Mike Bordin (drums).Recorded live at Budokan Hall, Tokyo, Japan on February 15, 2002.Fans fretting that Ozzy's reputation has been transformed into that of a distaff Robert Young thanks to the runaway success of the MTV reality show The Osbournes can breathe a sigh of relief upon hearing the fire-breathing performance rendered on LIVE AT BUDOKAN. Fronting a quartet that includes longtime guitarist Zakk Wylde (latest in a long line of hot-shot guitarists dating back to the late Randy Rhodes), Suicidal Tendencies bassist Robert Trujillo, and Faith No More drummer Mike Bordin, the Ozzman is in ferociously fine form.Hop-scotching through his considerable canon with Wylde providing molten riffs throughout, Ozzy delivers scalding versions of classics ranging from "I Don't Know" and "Crazy Train" to an over-the-top reading of "Mr. Crowley" juiced up by John Sinclair's ominous keyboard intro. Ozzy shows his range with the prog-metal psychedelia of "No More Tears," the heartfelt emoting that defines the smash power ballad "Mama I'm Coming Home," and the soaring semi-autobiography "Road To Nowhere." Although the only Sabbath number included in this set is the overplayed "Paranoid," the rest of LIVE AT BUDOKAN crackles with the kind of energy that you're not going to find on a re-run of Father Knows Best.

"Grey Area" employs the talents of guitarist Adam Rogers to give the track a hard-edged fusion sound reminiscent of early Brecker Brothers music. • Although singer/guitarist Odetta Gordon is most closely identified with the collegiate folk revival of the late '50s, she began her career singing blues in coffeehouses, and continued to play the blues regularly throughout her recording career. It's not surprising, since the blues is a vernacular form not at all far removed from the story-form ballads that are a huge part of the folk tradition, and so the dual focus on ballads and blues on this excellently sequenced 18-track compilation makes perfect sense.Opening with a rousing version of the gospel standard "He's Got the Whole World in His Hands" and closing with Odetta's famous "Spiritual Trilogy," the religious underpinnings of much of Odetta's work are readily apparent throughout. Elsewhere, blues standards like "Lowlands" and "'Buked and Scorned" sit beside classic folk ballads like "Greensleeves" and "The Fox." BEST OF BALLADS AND BLUES is an excellent introduction to this underappreciated artist.
